It sounds like you’ve tapped into something wonderfully needed: a space that showcases people, not just products, and reminds us that building really isn’t a solo sport.
I’ve noticed platforms like Indie Hackers and DEV try to centre creators, but they still tend to tilt toward what’s polished or popular-not the messy magic of the journey.
(If of interest, here’s something I often advise in my LinkedIn training sessions:
↪ Spend five minutes each morning scanning one community post-not to critique, but to see someone else moving forward and then write a mini comment celebrating their work. It builds momentum all around.)
What inspired you most when you realised connection was part of the solution - for you and for others?
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and insights, Melanie! That advice you gave is a true goldmine.
As for your question, that’s a tough one...
I’d say, when you’re truly devoted to creating and sharing value, the boost flows naturally; and when you’re focused on connection, it feels even more valuable.
I like your idea, Jenny. I have the same struggle as you, sometimes I can’t remember who someone is or what they wrote or built, especially with how fast everything’s changing these days. Your directory is a brilliant idea.
Thank you, Luan. Indeed, with how fast things are changing, we can never build or catch up with everything on our own. The collective wisdom really helps us stay connected and moving forward together.
Thank you, Karen! You’ve done so much amazing work. I’m hoping to include some of your writing in the learning resources once I get a chance to put more together.
ohhh love this. i just vibe coded a LinkedIn Challenge tracker for my community and im surprised by the traction it had. im thinking of building a customizable version. just dont know how. ill join this to get ideas!
I’m admittedly over my skis here, but I’m an investor in a startup exploring an AI-driven app for healthcare professionals. The idea is to deliver validated, certified, accurate content relevant to their toughest professional challenges.
Think of a doctor dictating a query about an obscure pediatric oncology symptom and instantly receiving an authoritative answer with citations from journals like NEJM. From there, the system could guide the clinician step by step through a differential diagnosis—similar to how ChatGPT suggests next actions.
Importantly, this wouldn’t just be for physicians. It could be just as valuable—if not more so—for nurse practitioners and physician assistants, who often carry heavy clinical responsibility and can sometimes find themselves “out over their skis.” Having AI feedback that not only provides guidance but also flags when it may be wise to consult a specialist—or even a general internist or family physician—could be a huge safety net.
This isn’t just about diagnosis either. It could also help clinicians handle difficult patient interactions, like addressing vaccine hesitancy with evidence-based, empathetic responses. The unique selling point would be access to respected journals, citation factors, and validated guidance—reducing the risk of “hallucinated” answers.
I’d love advice on how to find developers who could build this, and what costs to expect today. I know AI is supposed to make things faster and cheaper, but my experience from years ago was that developers were the most expensive and time-consuming part of any system build. Hoping things are more efficient now. Any feedback would be welcome.
I actually wrote an article early on about building an AI workflow to research a large list of preclinical drugs.
The concept was to predefine key questions, identify trustworthy sources, run multiple search rounds through reliable channels, cross-check the findings, fill in any gaps, and then consolidate everything into a condensed Excel sheet with proper references.
Here’s the original article if you’d like to see the process in detail:
From my own experience, what you’d need is someone who knows APIs, how to filter results from reliable sources, and how to architect AI models. If you need things to work locally and maintain privacy, that adds another implementation layer to consider. But once you define those prerequisites, I think it could be implemented without too much expense.

According to this article (https://towardsdatascience.com/why-building-in-public-really-works-c384538e16ba), sharing your process can boost accountability by up to 75 per cent - a terrific nudge for anyone stuck in “figuring-out mode.”

These ideas really resonate with me!

I like your closing sentence. Maybe we should talk more.
Thanks for the link!
Glad you found it helpful! I’d be happy to chat more.
Awesome stuff, Jenny!
